First issue of HED journal to hit stands in March 2018 : Dr Samoon | KNO

JAMMU, DEC 29 (KNO) : The first issue of Higher Education Department’s quarterly English journal, containing research based papers on different subjects useful for students and scholars, would be published in March 2018. In this regard, Principle Secretary, Higher Education Department, Dr Asgar Samoon today chaired a meeting of senior faculty members of colleges and officers to discuss the content and modalities of the proposed journal. It was decided that the journal will carry research papers on communication skills, literature and linguistics. For the purpose the department has constituted an editorial board comprising of ten members representing different colleges of the state. The meeting discussed the content and modalities for the promotion of the journal among the students, young scholars and serving faculty members. Dr Samoon stressed on the need to start the compilation by inviting research based write ups on varied subjects to be published in the journal. He further elaborated on the importance of the journal for projecting the Annual Performance Indicators (API) and overall quality enhancement which is vision of the Higher Education Department. He said such initiatives of the department would help to uplift the quality of Higher education in the state and bring it at par with global standards (KNO)
